Youth Media Works!

For three months in 2007, we ran a pilot project with disadvantaged young people living in the Vale of Glamorgan. Our aim was to help them develop the IT skills they needed to take on a multimedia design brief on behalf of two local voluntary organisations. We wanted them to learn how to produce a variety of media products but  also to become aware of how they might help themselves through community enterprise. The young people also gained a better understanding of others’ needs or activities within their own  communities and their community clients were left with a very positive image of young people working on their behalf.
